Dear Suhail

The layout of a website is just as important as the content and program
running it.  People are enticed by style and presentation as well
as all the bells and whistles that a site might contain.  It is
with this in mind that I offer my thoughts on Friendsyoulike.

Friendsyoulike is the starting block for anyone wishing to develope the
concept of either a Community or Dating website. Both concepts have a
common base, but are essentially different.

A Community site is more for those who just want to develope
friendships and share interests.  There is an up and coming need
for this type of site, because not everyone on the internet is looking
for romance or facilities to date another person.  A community
site is a place were individuals can form their own band of friends and
exchange views and ideas on anything, from day to day matters to
hobbies.  In essence it is a general meeting site with its own
particular functions to match that concept.

A Dating or Matching site is specific.  It is purely for people
with a specific need, to find a partner in life and therefore does not
need all the bells and whistles which can be found in a community site
like Blog etc.  But it does require a more comprehensive search
criteria for matching.

Basically Friendsyoulike is the email program, Mailyoulike, with
add-ons. But I would like to see this go further and have
Friendsyoulike split into  two  specific  designs
-  Community and Dating/Matching.  I would also like to see
these programs developed with the American, Canadian, UK and Australian
markets in mind where the english language is written diffently.
At present the search facility has an American bend with use of the
word Zip whereas, other countries use Post Codes.  There this only
the ability to search States whereas, other countries have their own
respective Counties or Regions.

I would also like to see the program take on a more stylish look with
the use of XP style icons which gives the program a more up-to-date
look.  There are similar programs available on the internet that
offer less functionality then Friendsyoulike but their look is more
contemporary with their use of stylish icons.

I am not a developer, but I wonder if the program could be made into a
modular form where the basic module is the email program and purchasers
can buy specific modules to suit their website needs - this is only
food for thought!

Anyway, I hope my comments will inspire other members to write in and
give their comments on the way they would like developement and style
to go and what other uses they can see for Friendsyoulike.

Hi !

I really like the idea of modules  ( plugin's)
The next version will inlcude this plus the mail function will be there but  more work will be done on other features

But as per your sugesstions i will allow users enable or disable specifc module

Plus In future there will be differnet skins which users can import and change the entire look and feel of the system which will also includes icons and other graphics

If any one else have any sugestsion for v2.0  let me know

Thanks
Suhail Kaleem
